original is best?

I have had one of these since July 2003. It still performs reliably and has no faults. Although now imitated at much lower prices the reviews of competitiors and my own less happy experiences with a cheap copy suggest that for heavy use the original will be the better long-term bet.
My marvellous toy

I saw this corkscrew being used and was simply stunned.
A quick down-up movement and the cork was popped. It was only a matter of when - I was going to have one!
After opening half a dozen bottles the action becomes familiar and begins to feel more impressive.
This is a fascinating piece of engineering and it has added greatly to the pleasures of wine. My feeling is that this would prove to be a hit as a present for any wine demented friend for a very special occasion. |

This was a replacement for a Screwpull I purchased several years ago.. I find it very satisfactory and easy to use.

I've not used it enough to comment on it's durability but the design and ease of use is excellent. I love products that are engineered well and this is one of them. Pricey but worth it.

I had one of these a few years ago when they cost £100, this works just as well. Of course it is no good with screw tops! The most useful part of the gadget is the cutter which makes removing the seal a piece of cake
